Eat These Foods For Better Hair Days

Eat These Foods For Better Hair

Have you noticed that most of the tips for better health and wellbeing – whether it’s your hair, skin, or general wellness – are all about what not to do? Don’t wash your hair too often (true), don’t forget your regular trim (yep), don’t let your hair stylist go crazy with the bleach (tick) – all prudent advice, but if you want to have a little fun while caring for your hair?

Time to eat your way there! Yep, when it comes to haircare, sometimes we can focus so much on what to put on our hair that we forget what we put inside our bodies is equally important when it comes to maintaining a mane that’s in tip-top condition.

So whether you’re dealing with breakage and split ends, thinning strands, hair loss or just a general lack of shine and lushness, adding these three goodies to cart next time you do a grocery run can help you on your way to good hair days aplenty.

  1. Fatty fish

Want your locks to grow faster? Stock up on fatty fish (think baked salmon for dinner, smoked salmon with your eggs beno at brunch or a serve of mackerel next time you spot it on the menu). As well as giving your taste buds a treat, you’ll be treating your hair to an abundance of omega-3 fatty acids, which research has linked to hair growth, plus magnesium and Vitamin D, both of which are key for healthy strands.

  1. Almonds

As well as being the perfect go-to snack for your desk or handbag, these little nuggets of goodness are bursting with nutrients that your hair loves (yep, she told us earlier). A handful or two of almonds will deliver an injection of vitamin E – which experts say has natural antioxidant properties that can help maintain healthy hair and scalp. They’re also full of B vitamins, essential fatty acids and zinc – a definite bonus for your hair, seeing as a deficiency in these nutrients has been linked to hair loss (no, thanks!).

  1. Seeds

Yep, they don’t just look pretty on top of your friand and add a little crunch to your salad, these small-but-mighty goodies can improve your hair, too. Just like their friends in the nut family, seeds contain zinc, and vitamin E – plus selenium, all of which are known to boost hair health. Not sure how to work them into your diet? Try a sprinkle of sunflower seeds over your morning cereal – they’ll add a hair-loving injection of vitamin E and B vitamins, too – or flaxseeds, which are packed with omega-3s, in your smoothie.

Hey, girl! Want better hair but can’t commit to a superfood-packed diet? Let our Hair Growth Supplements fix that for you.

My hair grows faster with all the vegetables I eat. Greens, grains, nuts. The plant based protein.
